Our Shepherds Farm

Who Indeed?            You will likely love your visit... But, then, who are you?

     This vacation experiance is for all families who desire to have a truly unique experiance as they pitch in and experiance light basic chores of an old style farm for a week. Your family should desire to learn about our loving God, and our Savior, Jesus Christ! He desires us to learn from what the Spirit of God chose to couch in many agricultural examples in the Bible. 

     So you desire to go back in time, to visit a period when most families pulled together and kept the farm functioning! The period when we did not have so many distractions between family members, or  between us and God.  Today most find that in this technological era, we  have become slaves...

But slaves to whom, or What?

    You may be a family of three... Or a family of twelve... (maybe more), we are planning to provide you a truly unusual experiance, by today's standards.      

     Our near future plans also include a cottage for the married couple who are now empty nesters, or a widow, or widower. You might spend a week in this little cottage having just been through a divorce, and in need of retreat to the quiet unhurried presence of God, to spend quiet time in his word.  the challenge of doing something so different, that you may gain strength to face the future of your life. 

    One thing will be true of everyone who visits. You will be exposed regularly to God's Word,  All will be have assignments that challenge us to reach beyond what we have ever thought we could do.  All will experiance new interests, which they never dreamed they had.  But no one will return home completely the same person who arrived for the visit.

   This is designed for those who truly desire to learn...

    You may want to know about the soil, the crops, the animals, the caring of these, you should also to be curious to see the stars closer then you might ever have seen them before.  You should desire to know everything you can learn about, and from our creator, learning from this, his wonderful creation. With this trip, evolution grows kind of dim.

    Expect to have a close fellowship at the end of each day, with those others who may be here. Time to spend studying the word of God, time when  each will share what they learned that day.

     This will be a time to enjoy singing praises To our Glorious bridegroom, and Savior Jesus Christ, as was typical of that rural, family and community of yesteryear.

     Then on the Lords Day between very light chores, and a series of surprises, there is a "service for believers," a Sunday School, for all and a fellowship dinner.  Some weeks, depending upon ages of children a time again to look in God's Word in preparation of the weeks activities. The day will conclude with the Gospel, for all who are visiting, both those  there for the week, plus outside visitors there for the evening. 

     All services function, with the leading of the Holy Spirit, in a manner consistant with a group commonly called "Plymouth Brethren". The Lord's Day morning service and others of that day, as well as an evening service will be a service of those locally gathered by the Spirit Of God, to the place "Where Christ is in the midst".

We  expect to start  having visitors during the spring of 2011

We welcome early arrivals with a desire to volunteer this fall for help with basic building, on a Saturday starting sometime in Autumn. Write if local and interested. Food etc. will be provided.
